Part 6
Editing in English and French
The bilingual editor, drafts, revision requests, and history.
# Part 6 — Editing in English and French ## 6.1 The Bilingual Editor Throughout the platform — research summaries, story chapters, delivery items — content is editable in two languages at once. The editor has: - A **Language tab bar** at the top (English / Français) with a small amber dot indicating an unsaved draft - A **large text area** where you can edit freely - A **Footer** with three actions: - **Save** (writes the edit to the server) - **Cancel / Discard draft** (clears the local draft) - **✦ Request revision** (asks the AI to rewrite this language with specific instructions) A small **"Unsaved draft restored"** banner appears at the top of the pane if you closed the tab earlier and reopened it — your work is safe. > **EN and FR are fully independent.** Saving the English version doesn't change the French. Each language is stored at its own language‑scoped path on the server. ## 6.2 Asking for a revision Click **✦ Request revision** to open the **Revision request** modal. You'll see: 1. **Language** — defaults to the tab you were editing 2. **Instructions** — a free‑form text box. Be specific: - *"Soften the tone in the second paragraph."* - *"Replace the reference to the divorce with a more neutral mention of the family transition."* - *"Make the closing line warmer."* 3. **Stages** to apply the revision to (research, story, media, delivery) 4. **Submit** The revision is queued. When it lands, you'll see it in the **Revision history** panel below the editor, with a "Show diff" toggle that highlights what changed. ## 6.3 Revision history Each project has a **Revision history** panel showing every edit — manual and AI — with: - **Timestamp** - **Language badge** (EN / FR) - **Stage badge** (research / story / media / delivery) - **Kind** — *AI revision* or *Manual edit* - **Status** — pending / running / complete / error - A **"Show diff"** toggle that reveals the *before* and *after* text side‑by‑side You can filter by language with the **All / EN / FR** tabs in the top‑right of the panel. ---
