Animated portraits & QR

A still portrait can become a gentle, narrated, moving scene — and a printed keepsake can link straight to it with a QR code.

   Bring a portrait to life

   From an ancestor's profile, choose a portrait and provide a short script for what they should say or a memory they should share (30–90 seconds). Add a voice recording if you have family consent — record it right there or upload a file — or use a narrator voice instead.

   ⚠️ Warning: Voice cloning always requires explicit family consent — it is never used without it.

   A private, shareable page

   Once generated, the portrait gets its own `/p/<token>` page — a tap-to-play, tap-for-sound viewer with the ancestor's name, dates, and caption. It is not indexed and only reachable by anyone who has the link or scans the QR.

   Scan from the printed page

   Ancestors with a finished animated portrait get a QR code beside their entry in the printed tree or book. Readers scan it with any phone camera to watch them come to life.

   Owner controls

   From the portrait tab you can rotate the link (mint a fresh, unguessable one — useful if a printed copy is ever lost), add a passcode, toggle whether it appears in print exports, and edit the displayed name, dates, and caption at any time.

   ⚠️ Warning: Rotating the link breaks any already-printed QR code pointing at the old one.
